Volunteer Coordinator

Additional Volunteer Roles

  • House Cleaning- Two hours a month for six months working with a team of other volunteers to clean one family home. You will schedule through our volunteer coordinator, Rachael and be matched with a team/family based on your availability (day, evening, or weekend).  This make SUCH a difference to families that have said YES to a child or children in foster care or have adopted.

  • Home Maintenance-Two hour minimum a month for six months to support families in areas they do not have time, energy, or capacity to address. You will schedule through our volunteer coordinator, Rachael and be matched with a family based on your availability each month (day, evening, or weekend). Maintenance could include, but is not limited to replacing a door, recaulking bathtubs or showers, small painting jobs, leaky sinks, squeaky doors, broken screens, etc.

  • Childcare-Two hour minimum a month for at least six months spending time with children from one family to give the parents a break. You will work directly with our volunteer coordinator, Rachael and be matched with one family. This is the highest need we currently have.  Activities could be in the family’s home, at the Clara’s Hope Family Center, or in the community with permission from the parent(s).  To most effectively meet the needs of the children, volunteers should not bring their own children for these activities.  Mandatory trauma training will be provided.

  • Mentoring-Two hour minimum a month for at least six months spending time one-on-one as a safe, caring adult in a child’s life and giving their parents a break. You will work directly with our volunteer coordinator, Rachael and be matched with one child. The first meeting will be at the Clara’s Hope Family Center with the parent(s), child, volunteer, and staff.  Further activities will be based on interests of the child and volunteer with input from the parent(s) and could take place at the family’s home, the Clara’s Hope Family Center, or in the community.  Mandatory trauma training will be provided.

  • Fundraising, Event planning, Special Events- Work directly with executive director, Tami Kromer, to help fund the mission of Clara’s Hope and create events for families, volunteers and our supporters. This is truly community building.
